National Apprenticeship Week 2023
It's National Apprenticeship Week, a celebration of the opportunities and benefits apprenticeships can offer. At KFM, we provide training and development opportunities for employees to develop their career.
We are focused on offering apprenticeships to staff who are already working in the business, to help develop their skills and knowledge while continuing in their role. Some of those include apprenticeships in management, leadership, operations, as well as technical and professional areas.
Currently at KFM, we have 19 apprentices undertaking a range of apprenticeships from Data Analyst Level 4, to Operations Manager Level 5.
Bishara and Georgina, from our Outpatient Pharmacy team, said: “The apprenticeship has been going very well so far, although it can be challenging at times, we have received a great deal of support from our work place tutor and the company as we have been allocated a study day, in which we have the time to complete any work and carry out any workplace activities without any added pressure. By completing this apprenticeship, it will advance us in our careers and give usthe necessary tools to become an excellent registered Pharmacy Technician.”
Senior Customer Support Coordinator at KFM, Olena, shared: “My experience with the apprenticeship so far is really good. Facilitated learning is very inclusive and collaborative. I have time to self-study too and it's completely supported by my Liner Manager. I have also found a Mentor in Procurement who is supporting my journey. His support and direction is invaluable for my practical skills development. Overall, I am enjoying my learning journey so far!”
Next year, we hope to expand our apprenticeship portfolio to further include senior staff who may wish to take an Master of Business Administration (MBA) and to look at opportunities to recruit new staff straight into entry level-roles at level 2.
Through our KFM Academy or ‘virtual college’, our staff can also develop their skills, talents and abilities in new, innovative, and supportive ways. Find out about our learning resources by visiting our page: KFM Academy — KFM (kings-fm.co.uk)
